There are multiple techniques and materials used to address roosting problems. If you post some pics you will likely get better feedback and recommendations.

Thanks Joe, I’m a tech dummy...arch door way over the front of the house. Two inch wide ledge where birds sit.

Mike, a lil strip of netting or even hardware cloth, painted to blend a bit has worked for me.
Those bird spikes would surely work too.

Don't know how many birds you have. Judy once set a 5x5 swing panel squirrel trap on the back porch for a gray squirrel and caught 9 small birds in 45 minutes with black sunflower seeds, all by accident. They were nuthatches, chickadees, tufted titmouse. Never thought they would push the panel, but they really liked the seeds.

You can make a teeter totter trap for sparrows. Works good. Lots of plans on net.
