Drive down the road. You shouldn't have to go very far before you see a dead opossum in the road. Keep your trapped opossum alive and release him in this spot as a replacement!

Skin, gut and remove excess fat. rinse well and pat dry. Season to your taste, wrap in saran wrap and let rest in the fridge overnight. If roasting, make sure it is raised up so the grease drips off of it. If pan frying, roll in flour and corn meal. Make sure oil is 350-375 degrees and cook until olden brown. When cooked, let sit and rest for 5 minutes. While resting you and your family can decide if your ordering pizza or subs.. Now that it has cooled a bit you can toss it in the garbage without fear of melting the garbage bag from being to hot.

that's a PETA ploy many fall into. Think it thru. Think how many ticks would be eaten by the birds, had an opossum not eaten the birds' eggs. (quail, turkey, grouse, ovenbirds, kinglets, etc, etc.) Opossum also prey on baby rabbits.

Unlike the new popular beliefs...Opossums do not go around looking for and eating ticks the come across. They groom themselves a lot and will eat the ticks off of them while doing so.
