How much CO2 in a 10lb tank

How much CO2 in a 10lb tank - 01/22/23 07:05 PM

I fill a chamber at a flow of 24 lpm or .84 cfh for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, I reduce it to just above off to keep positive pressure. Any idea how many times I can do this before running out of CO2?

Rainy Sunday in Knoxville and the magical "google box" is not helping me out.

Thanks

We don't have all the information,

so a few assumptions:
5 min at 24 lpm fills the container = 120 liters (31.7 gal) volume

reduce it to just above off to keep positive pressure > to many variables (is not be calculable with available information)

@ std conditions -
1 pound of CO2 = 247 litre (8.7 ft3) volume
10 lbs of CO2 = 2470 litre volume

10 lbs CO2 (2470l) ÷ 120l/fill = 20 fills from 10lbs CO2

Therefore-
Since we can't calculate the volume usage to maintain a positive pressure in the container
The number of fills for an assumed 120 litre container from 10lbs CO2 will be less than 20. It may be significantly less depending on the flow rate and time required to maintain positive container pressure.

Thank you sir. The "almost off" is a variable I can not put a firm number on as well. I guess I could say completely off. 20 fills should be a good "rule of thumb". Thanks for your response.
