Hip Pain??

Hip Pain?? - 09/04/16 02:58 PM

I have been feeling some increasing pain in my right hip area. If sitting for a while it hurts to stand up and takes a few easy short steps to get straightened up. Lately the pain has been more sharp, sometimes radiating down the leg. Anyone have similar experience?

I do quite a bit of heavy lifting, dragging/moving big hog traps, dragging big hogs out, climbing tree stands during the deer season, etc. Hopefully this is not something that will require the dreaded hip replacement.

Am recovering now from first torn rotator cuff surgery.

Thanks, Dave

Probably faceteal arthritis the facets on the outside of the spine steroid injections worked for about 2 months the first time
then radial branch nerve block was sposed to fix it didn't help so I gave up I'm not getting injections and RFI radio frequency abrasion every few months if it doesn't work

It hurts to ride in a car or sit for very long stand up and sharp pain and aches at night laying down but if I'm active its not too bad just bending down sharp pain both ways

Every one will get it sooner or later

I have spells with hip pain to the point I need crutches to get around. It starts in either leg in my groin and settles in my hip with pain down my leg to my knee. Excruciating pain at times, its like my leg is dead. My chiropractor can get me back on my feet in 3-4days. The regular Dr. Says there's nothing wrong but my hip says otherwise. I'v been a concrete/mason tender for 23 years and it's starting to take its toll on my bones.

I advise taking fish oil or flax oil on a daily basis- Make sure it's good quality. You could maybe see a top-notch chiropractor. My chronic pain is in my neck.

Bingo, you most likely are very close to a full blown hernatied disk. I'm just getting over one and man, go to a physical therypist and get some help before it gets worse.

Like was said above. Herniated disk. Which I can still have after I got rods and screws (L5 to S1) for a broken bone that wouldn't heal back. Towards the end before surgery my left foot went numb. Go to another Dr. till they get it right. 2 Dr.'s and 2 Neurologists read my MRI's. The last one caught it.

My pain is right in the right hip joint not in my back. I can put my finger on the pain. After sitting for a while or driving, it is painful to stand up. Sometimes at night it aches like a toothache if I lay on that side. Seems the problem would not be in my back, but I am not a doctor. I asked my shoulder surgeon about it last time I was in to see him and he said I have arthritis. Getting old is no fun!

dave, i have 2 disks out in my lower back. 90 percent of my pain is in my left HIP. some days i can't put any weight on it at all, and my hip joint is very sore. x-rays and an mri show the problem in my back, my hip shows no problems. back surgery is coming up.

Pressure on the sciati nerve that comes from the spine, the through the hip, and down the leg. The pressure is most likely in the back. Nerve block meds such as Neurotin helped my pain. I could not use my leg and foot was numb.

True hip pain. If it is in the front of the hip, groin area that is the hip.
If your pain is towards the back or buttock area that is your back causing the problems.
Had my hip replaced a year ago.

This above... i have same problems, it coming from the back and then radiates to the hip or hips depending on the back issues. arthritis and compressed disk all cause this. my best bet is the following>
1 see a chiro at least 1-2 times a months to keep hips and back aligned. lots of flax and fish oil along with krill oil, and dont forget large does of vitamin D. additionally i bought a tens device that does wonders for my back and hip if they tighten up, it relaxes the tightness and soreness. if you're interested in the one i got shoot me a PM and i'll send you the link. its great and does 4 pads so it can do both hips ans both sides of lower back.

Sit in on a chair and stretch out you leg. Have someone take ahold of your foot by the heal and toes, now give a twist left or right. If this sends you thru the roof the you need a new hip. I had both done in 2012, the first one went well but the second not as good. Both are great now. Since 2012 I had back surgery and last March a stent put in. Mayo Clinic has been great. I called Mayo Clinic on March 17 and told my nurse about my chest pains going down my arm, his commit was you get here tomorrow. I got there at 7:45 AM and I was in my room by 10:45 all done with a stent. Mayo new about my chest pains from an earlier visit so I was not a surprise.
