Painful Spot in Middle Back, Right Side??

I recently developed a painful spot in my middle back, a couple inches right of the back bone, about 6" - 8" above my belt. It has been aching/hurting in that spot for about two weeks. It is kind of a dull ache most of the time but when I take a deep breath, it hurts more. It seems to be getting a little worse with time. Kidney? Ideas?

Sounds a lot like what I experienced when I had a bulged disc but then I'm no doctor.

If it were a kidney stone it seems like you should have passed it by now. I don't know.

As we are not all doctors, but play one on the internet, you should probably get checked out by a real physician, as it could be anything from a gall bladder, a rib popped loose, to gastritis.

Had right kidney removed in August. Cancer. Never had any symptom or pain. Found during a check for something else.

Charles, I had left kidney done in June. I agree, don't play around get it checked out

Go get a basal metabolic panel (just tell you want BMP) and that will give your kidney function.
