Was wondering if coon meat, ground or chunked would make a very good meat to make canine bait from? Anyone had experiance with it? Haven't found much on the subject. Thanks
I am sure cooking it would much improve its odor and attraction particularly as a base material. I agree coon is pretty good eaten if prepared and cleaned well.
My Grandfather would smoke it along with Bear Meat. That was the only way I tried it and liked it. Of coarse I'll chew a piece of fat once in while when I skin one.

La cuisson c'est super et ça facilite la vie du trappeur.
Yep consider how dead coon lay on side of road and even the crows won't touch them. Deer? Coyotes will drag them back off the roadside and clean them all up. Coon, never. They just become grease spots on the road eventually. Much better options for coyote bait.
But, evidently cooked it must be palatable. I will just take their word for it if you don't mind.
