Anyone use dried distillers grain before in bait? Thinking about running a batch of home brew beer this fall, wondering how post fermentation barley might work for coyote. Should be a given for coon. Thanks.

Good question. I have access to grain from bourbon making?

They will eat it but they got to be hungry from my experience. It would be like comparing a ribeye to a hotdog in terms of attraction of a good bait to ddg.

ive hauled a lot of it dry and wet from ethanol plants. ethanol plants use a mix of corn and milo most of the time. coyotes and coons either one are not crazy about it. fermentation removes all the sugar. when fed to livestock its part of a ration. never tried barley but with all the sugar removed I bet its no different

On a dry matter bases its 50% protein and has the same energy level as dry corn.
