When to add ingredients? - 04/10/19 12:30 PM
I've got some beaver meat from this last season with just a bit of taint to it that I mixed some sodium benzoate and glycerine too. I was also thinking off adding some castor and just a drop of quill in there but wasn't sure if I should do it now and let it age or wait until a few weeks before next season?

I like everything to age together, thats what works best where I trap.
There is really only one way to see what works best where you trap..try both ways
Testing baits and lures when season is closed is a good way of scouting for next season

Like Billy, I also put ingredients in during the tainting process. It probably does not matter. You could always PM Paul and ask his opinion or Bob Jamison

I might be totally wrong but I think you can add anything before you fix it. Unless your fixative is part of the end smell you want

Since I'm using bait solution with preservative in it, I add it to the solution after the desired taint has been attained.
