what general proportions do you use for tincturing castors with vodka.

4 oz solid to 16 oz liquid
If I may, shorthair or anyone while on topic, how is tinctured castor then used? Add tinctured liquid to lure or bait formulas? Straight as a attractant? Can more Vodka be added as used? Sorry, just curious as I have some dried frozen castor that should be put to use for something.
