I use salt all the time as a preservative, as antifreeze, and to toughen/thicken baits, especially baits that have a slurry consistency. How much salt will be too much?

I’d go with SB to much salt can ruin about anything.

I was told a long time ago that k9’s have no aversion to salt like we do . My guess is , if the dog don’t hack it up it’s probably not too much .

Deer smell salt. I’d avoid salt for this reason alone where I trap.

Yep would be a porky magnet also.
