Shipping skunky lures - 06/01/22 06:10 PM
Week ago I shipped the box of lures I donated to trapperman auction. Lady at post office was teasing me about box smelling (I couldn't smell it). She asked what was in it and I told her animal control products. She laughed and said it should work. Today I take 6 more boxes in and thought I had done a better job of packaging skunky lures. Nope she could still smell them but said it wasn't too bad and not to worry. In the discussion I mentioned what I had done to try to control odors but those lures with skunk in them were not staying contained. She laughed and said she thought the skunk smelled like weed...... Now I'm worried some pot smoker is going to find them in transit thinking they hit the jackpot and steal it. I told her if I ever start selling commercially I'd be shipping lots more and when she said I couldn't smell it because I was use to it I offered a to bring them some to keep at post office so they could get use to it also.....she said NO. Any reasonable way to contain it better? I tape lids and double zip lock bag it. Not going paint can and cat litter or I would need ti charge $25 dollars extra for shipping materials and shipping. She promised it was acceptable but I'm afraid someone else might be offended. And I don't think these lures are that skunky, just enough to give them some legs.
