Gator meat - 08/12/22 06:12 PM
I talked to a guy about getting some gator meat scraps to try to for a canine bait. If I get it and taint it some and add SB to it what type of oil/oils would be good to add to it that would help carry the odor especially in the wet weather.

I would put some skunk quill in there.

You may not need to add any oil , I’ve only had gator one time and thought it was plenty oily. But , if you are intent on adding some oil try beaver tail oil .

Gator oil itself is kind of fishy in odor and a very dark oil like that of Trout oil or beaver tail oil. Trout Oil would compliment most any lure or bait and has a very low freezing point. Which continues to give off odor in extreme cold temps.
