Scarce title - Five Fur Traders of the Northwest - they include Peter Pond, John Macdonell, Archibald N. McLeod, Hugh Faries, and Thomas Connor. Excellent fur trade era book - 296 pages - hardcover with dust jacket - clean and excellent condition. Published 1965.
The book carries the narrative of Peter Pond, fur trader of both American and Canadian Northwest. Thomas Connor documents his life and work at the fur post he established in the St. Croix River country near present day Pine City, Minnesota. There is much valuable and interesting information about the fur trade years of the early 1800s. This is a volume worth owning. Scarce and highly collectible. Excellent in every way!
