Sheering fur - 04/05/18 04:27 PM

I have some bigger beavers I am getting tanned this spring. I want to get them sheered.. I called Moyals yesterday and they don't do it..
Have any of you tried to do it with a clipper for a pet store or Wal-Mart??

You will be better off having them plucked and sheared.

Tubari does that but the turn around time is slow because the process is labor intensive. www.tubariltd.com

Shearing only will leave you with a prickly stubbly mess. You will shear off the long guard hair, leaving the end of the guard hair. Sort of like a guy with a heavy 5 o'clock shadow!!

Plucking removes the guard hair, then you can sheer the under fur down to a velvety like texture.

Has anyone plucked their own and have it turn out?
