Male v Female Otter Primeness - 12/22/18 09:40 PM

I have put up a male otter and female otter both caught within the last week. The male otter had pretty creamy tan leather when dried. The female otter was considerably larger but dried looking like a blue coon. Am I trapping otter way too early or is it normal for females to be behind kind of like sal coons are? She had a very fatty stomach when fleshing.

Resources drained raising a litter can affect fur quality in female animals some years.
