I would suggest you just buy or make a female mink board and use it for fleshing.

I do have an old mink stretcher, but it is only 1/4" thick and flimsy. Can i just use that as a pattern and make one from 3/4" board?

Not sure that I would make it 3/4 in thick. 1/2 would be plenty

Yea,a lot of the old timers used a wooden cone shaped bat to flesh mink and a bigger Otter bat for otter.

Something that Is FLAT will get the job done a lot quicker than scraping on a round surface.

Hey Boco do you cut the ears and noses off your mink? LOl

By far my favorite fur handling for mink would be the round birch to the right, this may classify as Boco’s “Mink Bat” it came out of an abandoned trapping cabin in Canada years ago. The bottom pic shows the cone shape of the Bat.

Mink need very little scrapping so I just lay It on my rat beam and hold It In place with one hand and use my rat scraper with the other hand.

Are you removing the saddle? I've been told you don't need to do that.

In the photo it appears to me he is removing the armpit area meat and fat, not the saddle.

Yep hide is on sideways.
I ended up making a beam from using mink board as a pattern.

As long as you have a wood mink forming board I see absolutely no need for a seperate fleshing board or mink bat.
