Take the Plunge

Want to thank Boco and others for empowering me to try tanning. I want to say that I am a beginner, amateur and only understand very little of the process intrinsically. I just decided that I was going to try. This is half brain, half orange bottle, salt, water and I did "smoke" the hide. I believe it to tanned, I need to spend some more time breaking the hide, but its not bad right now. I am only posting this for you to laugh at my attempts and to get motivated by my efforts. By "water proof" does it mean it will prevent me from getting wet or does it mean the hide will stay soft after getting wet?
