Drying Board Deminsions - 11/19/22 01:13 AM

Can anyone give me demenstions for drying boards for Fox, Coon, Cyote and Otter? Or is there somewhere I can get them. I know they come in different sizes.
I want to make my own out of some oak boards I currently have.

Thanks

Google Furharvesters and look for dimensions. Oak May be difficult to pin.

Use softwood.
In the south they use basswood, here we use cedar.

Watch out for sappy spots if using pine.

When I was a kid I made my boards out of pine. Then coat with 5-6 coats of poly. In between sand with very fine steel wool. Didn’t know what a belly board was. Then discovered girls. lol

Pine is ok,watch the pitch pockets, like said, and make sure there are no knots on the edges.

In my opinion all the rat board dimensions are to wide In the shoulders and neck area.. Take off a 1/4" on both sides of the shoulder measurements and you will gain a least a Inch In length. Rats are graded by length not width.
If your using wire just squeeze them down a bit.

Cypress works good too.
