Drying Fur in the Deep South

Second year trapping, I’d like to try putting up fur the right way this year. Last year I salted all my fur and had it tanned. I’m in Louisiana close to New Orleans so I can randomly have days that air temps are in the 70-80s. Will my fur be ok assuming my A/C can only keep up around 70F? I plan on keeping a dehumidifier and fan going as well.

Low humidity is the key to drying fur.Also well scraped and stretched.
At those temps monitor the skins as they dry and spray raid if bugs become an issue.

It'll dry fine. Do as Boco says and monitor for blow flies around the head/ears/nose hole.

The fan and dehumidifier is the key. Dont worry too much about the temps.

Wipe the grease/moisture every couple days that beads up on the skin-out pelts like coon and otter.

Use shives on the belly AND back of fox, bcats, and coyotes. I use 2 shives on otter also, but not coon.
