Beaver meat

Getting ready to cook up small beaver a friend gave me. Do you have to soak in salt water to get blood out,some post I have read say to do so and others don't mention it. Also do you have to brown in pan if you are gonna slow cook I don't see where that would be necessary thanks for the help
