Did your son put the buck on a scale to get a dressed weight? My All Purpose Boy targets specific deer like that, and this year he already has a couple he's hoping to get a crack at. His father targets specific edible deer. I ain't the least bit picky what size antlers I tie my tag to. I think being a taxidermist all those years sorta ruined me for trophy type hunting. We can shoot all the does we want for meat, but just like the challenge of finding “target” bucks and holding out for them and only them. Does it always work, heck NO, but that’s what makes it fun.
