Oregon has Guard in medical facilities, it’s s joke. They drink coffee and push wheel chairs. They haven’t eased any burden, instead they’re in the way of already hamstrung workers trying to do what needs to be done.

The realities of living in a blue state. Glom up the resources to cover your own screwups. In my state they are looking at/implementing using national guard to drive school buses because bus drivers refuse to get the jab.

IMO the guard can better used to secure the border , instead of covering failed policies.

It's from Biden down. He's has threatened to strip federal money from nursing facilities. States that depend on federal money are bending down and kissing his shoes. MLG did something similar a month ago requiring businesses have 100% employees that deal with patients to comply or else. I personally know many here are not bowing down to these orders. I know several who feel forced to comply.

My friend got the jab Friday as it's coming if one needs to stay active in society. There will be no flying if you haven't got the jab. All federal facilities will be mandatory if not already. Probly even national parks.

Forget the National Gaurd, this crazy Gov is talking about lessening restrictions on licensing and bringing health-care workers from other Countries...I wonder what that means?? To put all NYers at ease, she did say this morning that she will be signing an emergency executive order today giving her more power...Not sure about others, but I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy.......

I dont see vaccine becoming mandatory. Airplane is private property. The owner can mandate a vaccine. I suppose walmart etc could too. I think they wont just because of lost business. Nobody is being refused entrance to the VA hospital in Topeka yet and its federal. I have been hauling contaminated dirt in a cleanup at an old army ammunition plant that is federal and we are not even wearing masks. I am pretty confident I had covid and dont need a vaccine.

A little update from Gary's statement here. We were told yesterday a number of things, but for visitors coming to our buildings (and I suspect it would be at least Dept of Interior wide, if not the whole fed system), they will need to show they're vaxed OR provide a negative virus test within the last 72 hours. I don't know where they pulled 72 hours out of the air form, they do all kinds of s*** like that, but that's the current skinny. It doesn't really matter much here, our local building has been closed to the public since late March 2020, no family visitors have gotten to see the neat stuff we can show them, 2 summers lost of side jaunts from family vacations for kids to learn, probably 2 years of no school field trips to the center. Its all very sad.

This thing is a weaponized cold virus. We are all going to meet it sooner or later, if we haven't met it already.

So now New York has a nut job for a governor that is over stepping her bounds.
As a former school bus driver I have to say that the job bears tremendous responsibility for the safety of the children. School districts let a lot of misbehaved get away with their conduct because the budget has to pass at all costs. I say that if the child regularly misbehaves kick them off the bus and let the parents transport them.
As for hiring school bus drivers districts should pay them much better wages and retirement plans like the teachers get.
