Bang….Bang Bang Bang

Just kidding. I don’t mind snakes as long as I see them first. We have timber rattlers but they are extremely rare. One pops up in the county ever so often.

I caught and relocated 2 black snakes in the last week from my chicken coop.

That is a pretty snake. Me and a buddy were bird hunting the Rosebud Reservation (I think) and one of the dogs pointed. I walked up to the dog, expecting a bird to flush and a prairie rattler raises up and started rattling. I thought thats nice, gonna get me a nice skin. I killed that snake and didnt go ten ft and dog pointed another. We were in an old prairie dog town. It had come an early snow and then melted off and warmed up. There were one to five snakes around every prairie dog burrow. We ended up each carrying a dog under one arm and shotgun in another. A thousand wonders we werent all bit.

Seams like its about 4 inches longer than I prefer. Maybe shorten it up a bit.

Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

Sissies. Snakes are wonders of nature. No hands or feet but they thrive. And they crawl on their belly. I stop and move them off the roads.

That area of SoDak is known for rattlers in prairie dig colonies.

They dont thrive here - between the hogs and gators, snakes pretty scarce
