Blind sets seem to be one of the best for mink. along waters edge, culverys, dryland trail and the bottom edge set, old muskrat dens. pocet sets baited with fish, crayfish work good and any comercal bait and or a good lure with a longspring/coilspring/conibear bedded in front. PVC set same as coon.

No bait or lure just a blind set as mink like to investigate holes ect. A mink lure might help but I have never tried it.
The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

I get more rats than mink simply because there is more of them around than mink as ccoyote suggested. At todays rat prices thats just fine with me.

I cut a grove in a tree that is in the water and on the bank the grove must be larger than the trap then cover the trap with wet leafs and the tree to then put your bait on both sides of the trap and have a be sure to have a heavy tree so if you get a coon you won't have him dragging it down stream.
I am a strong supporter of Catch and Reset trapping.
It's the best practice for our sport!

Find Vinke's video post about his floating cage. Works on mink and rats!
