yepper grit guy. I see a car with women in it wearing burkhas the man driving makes me nervous. he likely isnt a bomber but just like those nuts in Appalachia hiding a bomber no telling what he IS willing to do. If thats racist thats ok I can live with the label.
Danny, Your feelings are not anywhere near labeled racist. That term is way over used , like an old credit card.
You have feelings for a religion who teaches that anyone not exactly as they are deserves death. Whether they give tacit approval of terrorists or are active ...they believe the same. There are those of different races , even in this country, who were raised in a different religion, such as Christendom, who later convert to Muslim. So it isn't race . I know what you mean, though.
Last night on the news I saw an Army veteran interviewed ...he said when he was there, they had locals working with them as interpreters , for months. They stuck right with the Americans the whole time, fighting with them unwaveringly. Then one day when they reached a point into the mountains on mission, the interpreters turned the barrels on them and opened fire. Not one clue meantime , all those months.
After hearing countless experiences just like this one, I never will ever trust anyone like that....no matter how others may say " Oh but this friend is different ! They are so nice....I've known them for years. " That's what they all say til something happens.
If I saw them actively speaking out against terrorism and pointing out who in their religious groups and tribes were a risk, I would feel differently. Down to reporting anyone in their group who is planning violence. But they are generations away from the bravery of stepping outside of their entrenched indoctrination.
Soldiers say they are so worked up in high adrenalin all the time , watching for the least telling eye expression, where they are looking, where their hands are , all the time those local "helpers" are with them.
