As in the name of lures and traps etc. Ya know marketing. Paul’s Backbreaker thread got me thinking about it (Backbreaker is a ridiculously great name for a trapping product). Love it or hate Locklear’s Alcatraz was clever. Whatcha got?

Montgomery's Digger trap was a pretty good name, even though I don't think it was ever very popular. But who wouldn't want a trap to catch those pesky diggers?

Didn't Newt have a product called Hot (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman)? LOL.

I love telling people two items I use and they look at me like I am crazy.

Lee's, - Death Ray

Kendall's - NO-BS Extreme

Two weeks ago in bear camp I had them going that I had a death ray for dispatch. LOL so gullible.

I think it was Asa who once said a lot of lures are better at catching a trapper than an animal (or something to that effect). It was a discussion like this on names or labels or something.

Makes a lot of sense. That said, I'm a sucker for a cool name or a well written lure description that promises secret rare exotic ingredients or being the best _____ lure on the market that 1,000's of govt trappers swear by.

The "Walloper" by Diamond Brand is an outrageous name for a very unique, over-engineered, crazy looking trap.

Lure, "Backbreaker". It's name grabs your imagination and works extremely well, me and this lure go way... back now also!

No it's not. Never to early to start making baits. Too early to sell them maybe. But look at the Kaatz brothers. I think they were in their very young teens when they started their lure business and look at them now.

I make Payback baits, its the ingredients, things typically eaten by the predators, that are getting Payback when they catch the critters. My buddy named my Cherry Bend-Over bait, not sure what he had in mind but I say its cherry/fish based and you gotta bend over to put in it the DPs or pockets. wink

I always liked the names sweetwater flattail, boar's delight, Huson Seal and of course backbreaker as mentioned.

I know these don't have product names attached, but wax dirt and muskrat colony traps were game changers for me.

When I envision you making baits I can see you at the OSHA approved meat grinder shoving rats on through with the wooden handle belt tensioner! Great video to watch right before dinner! grin
