Why did you take a dump right by your sifter? You should have gone off in the woods and then flagged it with white before you left.

Somehow..I've torn the miniscus slightly in both knees. Right one is worse. Had fluid drawn off right knee and steroid shot about a month back...didn't help much...but that was the 3rd or 4th time on that knee.

Seen one a friend caught in Hells Canyon one time that had been in a wildfire. Hair on it's front legs, chest and parts of it's belly was just starting to grow back and only about a quarter inch long. Not a top lot cat, lol. Seen bald spots on quite a few over the years, but as Savell said, always from an injury or maybe small ones where they got pitch in their fur and pulled it out. Never seen anything that looked like mange though.

We catch the all sizes and colors out here on the east coast. They haven't been here for very long. 20 years ago, you got called a liar if you said you saw one. They are EVERYWHERE now.
Most of them are 30-40 pounds, but every once in a while I'll catch one that looks as big as a German shepherd. Biggest ones top 60 pounds.
They've done DNA studies and found out that significant number of coyotes caught out east have a little dog in them. Based on the size of some of these coyotes, I'd say those ones had a big dog in them at some point in their lineage. lol

The Rifleman! Can he sling it around like ol Chuck Connors could? lol Long ago you would of been as excited about catching those coons as you are a bobcat, those seem to have a nice color to them. Put you a few D/P's out around your predator sets and you wouldn't have to fiddle with your traps everyday due to those things poking around.

Re: East TX Trappin & Wildcat Slappin - 02/18/25 06:31 PM
The funny thing about that place, Ole Sam Petty came out one year for a week or so. Back then I would have a fifth of Wild Turkey American Honey behind the seat of my old Dodge trapping truck. Every time we caught a yote, cat or a gray, we all had to take a swig of that whiskey. They didnt know it until Uncle Sam caught me takin extra swigs while Savell was remaking a set that a cat pulled out of. That was the day that Sam and I surprised Savell with some funky rotten lure Bulletbox got at a trapping convention and I mean that stuff was definitely not right. Be dang if Savell didnt snag a butt sniffer on it the last day we had sets out. I will never forget the look on his face when he took a whiff of that rotten crap.

Re: East TX Trappin & Wildcat Slappin - 02/19/25 12:40 AM
I can't trap around logging crews or tractors! Saw a tractor in a field that wasn't there the day before, asked ol guy that way paying me to trap in June if he was bush hogging that back field, oh no not till after your done. Came back next day to half the field mowed and 4 flat traps. Pitched a dead skunk in the high weeds about 10 ft. in from where he had stopped the day before. Part of the field was cut the next day and the tractor was gone, didn't ever see him bushhogging again while i was trapping after that, lol.

Re: East TX Trappin & Wildcat Slappin - 02/19/25 12:47 PM
I swear traps must have some sort of magnetic attraction to trucks, tractors, skidders and quads. Had two Jake Traps run over this past Summer doing nuisance work. The farmer apologized for the first one. So to make sure it wouldn't happen again, I showed him where the new set would be and he watched me set the trap. Next day....run over Jake. I was hot!
Posted By: Bob Jameson
Re: East TX Trappin & Wildcat Slappin - 02/19/25 12:55 PM
I agree with Mike. I swear some of those farmers just do it to aggrivate me or they are not too concerned about it, figure oh well. I would think we all have had our fair share of damaged equipment.

our season never goes out. coyotes can be trapped year round as can cats. they are predators down here, we dont have all those sissy homosexual laws that yall have up north. blows my mind that all of the NE states you can have a freaking abortion on Sunday but you cant drink a beer. whiskey or hunt and fish but you can kill an unborn child and participate in the Roman empire sexual assaults of young boys. Wow

$6,500 a gun per year … and can’t even kill a buck unless it meets some kind of age requirement … they feed em cradle to grave like livestock … dang deer farmers have ruined hunting… but it’s good for trapping access I guess as they have a strong hatred for predators… think a coyote is going to eat all the future b&c’s

Shoot I’d roll up on my e bike shoot until barrel melted. Out in the field. 5 wound die for sure. That’s how many rounds ole death and destruction holds. Think I’d get 2-3 more shots off before they got out of the field
