I used to fish the Margaree River myself. Tompkins pool, Brook Pool, The Forks , Doyles bridge, Mac Daniels big and small. We have some close friends that live on the hill beside the Brook Pool. Tompkins family . Good people .

Ha Ha, ho ho. You might just as well asked " Do ducks swim?" I also do a lot of ocean fishing as well as trout, salmon & catch what are classed as trash perch and such. Lots of mud suckers here to. They do make fine bait.

Getting ready to take a summer afternoon off. My wife is holding her water glass and my neighbors wife is telling her husband (the Camera guy) how much she likes me. The Neighbors are a fun couple recently married. They each lost their first spouse to cancer at age 49. No person alive knows what tomorrow will bring.

Although my registration doesn't show it, I have been posting on Paul's site since about 1999-2000. When I first tried to post I was so computer illiterate it took me about four hours to get to the point where I had it together enough to post. I spent most of my time posting about sets that I used and mentoring young folk trying to understand the world of trapping. If they had a question that I could offer my personal preferential sets for I would offer them while understanding others have other choices they would make which could even be more suitable then mine. I appreciated the chance to explain these things to a new generation of trappers because nobody was there for me when I started out. I understood my targeted animals and knew where to capture them but tricks such as dirt hole sets would never have been offered me by any old time trapper in my neck of the woods. The youngsters here are hob knobbing with some of the best trappers that have ever lived and that is a very accurate description. Fortunately those kids are bright enough to know that and by nature are so respectful of that knowledge that it gives me solace to see three sometimes four generations of trappers seeking out each other. Paul has done a good thing here. .

Eventually though , I had to switch my game plan and hopefully educate this forum and the trapping fraternity on how to protect their lifestyle. Some folks get upset with my posts because they expose just how important it is to understand that we are not isolated and operating in a safe structure anymore. We have political adversaries that are trying to destroy us. We MUST learn to communicate our position better & recognize who our enemies are in that structure. If we do not,our lifestyle is doomed.

Not lucky at all. Blessed is more like it. My ancestors helped to create the home that I hope decedents of mine will be living on till the second coming of our Lord. In the meantime we have no Pickerel or Walleye.

Either I dont read very carefully or dont pay attention. I dont remember you giving us the personal touch you have in these posts. Until you mentioned your wife I just assumed "Mira Trapper" to be a woman. I dont know why I assumed this but I did. Sorry for my mixup. My wife has often said I dont listen. Dont tell her but she is probably right. Very nice pictures. Chub

To funny. I am a pretty macho guy in real life. Played Hockey, football, soccer, pitched fastball wind mill style and played center field. Batted 666 one year and always a threat to steal bases. Trapped ,hunted, fished, cut pulp, logs & am known to exceptionally strong in my place of work. I guess I write like a woman since I do allow my Soul to appear on paper. The name Mira is in respect for one of two rivers that I love with all my Soul. I didn't think to name myself SalmonTrapper, after the other river or in respect of my favorite Brook, TroutTrapper as in Salmon River & Trout Brook. grin Mira sounded less fishy but I suppose more Effeminate in retrospect. The gal trappers must be getting a hoot out of this mistake.
