For cut stump treatment of buckthorn (& some honeysuckle)

Do you use/like it? Regular Remedy or 'Remedy Ultra?' Mixed with water, diesel or bark oil?

I'm not sure if it's better than Garlon.
I currently use Pathfinder II RTU (equivalent to Garlon 4).
I thought I heard Remedy works <28° F, which is largely what intrigues me about it.

I don't use Tordon because of the risk of harm to nearby desirable trees.

Thanks

Anyone can catch a racoon when setting a DP in center of heavy used trail. Im talking about the less than ideal locations and what to do to increase the odds of catching a nest raiders attention.
#1 I always cover DP with something to keep mice from stealing bait. Iv seen the mice lick oil residue completely out leaving no scent.
#2 If I set high bank I will throw or squirt trail of food or trailing scent down into creek.
#3 if working wide draws with many parallel trails i will set a central one. Then leave a trail of fish oil to all the other trails. Don't want to know how many racoons cut my trailing scent and keep walking straight.
#4 If trapping property line will give a squirt of trailing scent across fence onto neighboring property.
#5 This has worked couple time but no guaranty. Had places where racoons had no set trails and kinda wide open. Hung a piece of white trash bag 24" off ground and set trap under. Worked just like bobcat sets.
#6 Osage fence rows I have better luck setting trails going from trunk to trunk in center rather than outside edges even if corn is planted up to trees.
Would love to hear your tricks to more efficient trapping.

I understand that you folks that know what you're doing often add high proof white liquor to lure to prevent mold and to provide evaporative lift. I'm wondering how much you add roughly percentage wise. I'm working with 190 proof everclear. Thank you for looking.

I should add that I'm making a castor based beaver lure.

Interesting mass Sunday. The priest was saying back in the day, salt was a median of trade like money. Salary came from the word salt. Was a man "worth his salt". Very good sermon.

I saw a video posted yesterday that contained a great tip/trick to help with checking traps on drags before daylight.

Lathern Hull (from Tennessee), who gets the credit for posting, stated that he uses a stick or weed with a reflective thumbtack pushed down into the ground thru a chain link on the drag. The reflective thumbtack glows bright white, if checking with a camera or flashlight before daylight, and immediately disappears when you make a catch.

I thought this was a great idea and wanted to share for others who run drags on their line...
