I don't claim to be an ADC person but a guy from my sons church has asked us to trap his place for yotes and coon. Problem is the man's dogs and cats. The latter I canuse DP's for but my question is; how do we catch the yotes without catching the man's dogs?

Unless he's willing to keep the dogs confined, I doubt you can.

He might be alright with you catching the dogs a time or two but what's the point? He's asking for a favor. Confining the dogs isn't hard.

Put them up or no trap.

All members of the dog family react to the same baits and lures the same way.

In this day and age, dogs running loose just isn't a good idea. It's dangerous for the dog now. Dogs do not recognize property lines and if the neighbors are butt holes, you could wind up with a dead dog just a few feet off your line. He could actually be a good neighbor but trapping with coninbears in bucket sets. That's still a dead dog even if he IS a nice guy.

It's not hard to contain a dog. Heck, I have two of them running around outside. They are completely free to wander around my yard and run around the house BUT, at the edge of that 90 foot circle, they stop in their tracks when they hear that collar beep.

Have the guy contain the dogs.

Man, if only teenagers were that easy to control!
