Isn't a BAD and a release ferrule the same thing?? I think you are right. A release ferrule seems like 1 type of BAD. I don't know anyone that's used them. Yes sir- that is probably correct, I suspect.

The Gregerson locks work real good for holding coyotes (24 hr check) but still releasing all but the smallest deer on standard leg snares as long as the snares are kept real short... If you put very much length on the snare the coyotes will tear out the Gregerson lock with constant lunges... Thanks. Which size gregerson are you referring to?

So To be legal In WI what BADs and what type of locks are required on a foot snare?? I'm betting that there are already restrictions being placed on what you can use and what you can't use here In WI

I read the foot snare section of the '17 regs. It kinda seems any type of BAD or stop is legal, so long as the BAD is rated at 350# or less But I've never known of those ferrules or gregersons to be used around here.

I looked at the WI foot snare pictures and to me it looks like there is no b.a.d. in the pic , not that it concerns me because a person can only use them on fox and yotes at certain times of the year ! You would think it should be more clear but I bet it only concerns about 2 people in Wisconsin ! And like Yes sir states how can a deer stop be put on one and hold fox ? Fox and yotes are the only thing you can foot snare in Wisconsin .

If a deer stop is on it how is it going to hold a fox ?
I must be missing the big picture.

Really , wouldn't you think a deer would step in a foot snare before a neck snare , where a stop is required on a neck snare , "cable restraint" in Wi. Makes no sense .
