I have been to New York during December and near Christmas and yes going to plays there was a lot of fur and real fur. It is little to no wonder why many won't buy fur here if those of us who harvest the fur dis the eastern upper middle class that buys the fur. Why patronize a bunch of judgmental bashers?

This new years eve coat don't look close to real to me . It's real; some kind of goat or sheep, probably bleached. At least it's going in the right direction, I don't care who the person is.

Bryce Maybe because they'll buy a fur coat, hat, etc... to be fashionable, but then turn around and vote to take your traps away. Or do their best to snatch your guns and then berate you for using a club to dispatch. Mike

Fur will shine again boys.... All things go in circles. Maybe we will have 7 more years of being told were doing just fine instead of being told we are the heels of the earth and encouraged to feel guilty about everything under the sun. And the sun. Fur will come around.

It wasn't my intention to bust Bryce's chops...
We have reached the point in a global market that if we want fur items to move off of racks/shelves that we need to be able to buy it just about everywhere.
Producers need to look at new items and new markets... Inexpensive mass produced items that everyone can afford.
We need ushankas and mittens at Wal-Mart and Target.

I don't think the US will ever be much of a player in the fur market. But, with the cold temps around here the past couple weeks, I've had several offers for my coyote hat and several compliments.

I agree. But if it was more affordable to buy what would the effect be for the trappers? Hopefully a fur boom Not sure a boom is the answer Adam. Lots of variables effect the fur market. And it's hard to see the whole picture. But more people wearing more fur can't hurt. Mike
