If you do a search for conduit stakes you’ll find a lot of good info.

I make my own out of 1/2 black pipe there 3 inches long overall. I also make pogo anchors I like them both.

I use to use rebar for all my traps when I trapped big in years back. But then went to pogos. They held good and with cable were very light weight. But driving them in our very heavy gumbol clay ground was a big, big pain. So then I went to the Iowa style stake anchors (pipe opened both ends), same thing. Many times the driver would not pull off of the stake because it was lodged tight by packed in clay. So I tried super stakes. I loved them but sometimes hard to drive in I think due to their diameter. So being the tinkerer I am I made my own out of 1/4" black steel (about 1/2" OD) standard pipe. Works great. I usually make them a little longer than regular super stakes. I do weld in a 3/8" solid rod on one end and then grind a point to better drive in tough soil. And weld on a 1/4" nut to hook my #2 chain on with a welded mighty S hooks! I make my own drivers by welding a grade 8 bolt to a 1/2" rod. The bolt never mushrooms much at all. Very hard. But these anchors

are a b****h to pull. I use a handi jack or a stake puller I made. You will never get them out trying to pull thru frozen ground. A spring project for sure.

That's the best anchor I have used, conduit is too flimsy, even wolf fangs are too flimsy for frozen ground
Pipe anchors my favorite

Re-bar is easy to work. Cut, drill, grind and weld. I have been toying with the idea quite a bit lately. I think i can grind a point on one end of a random scrap length of bar then cut it at about the standard 3" length. Put that end in a vise, wack with a punch and drill pilot hole, then bore out to bigger hole. Take a 1/2 link of chain and weld it to the anchor, instead of using a nut. I cut all my chain with an 1/8' cutting disc so i have and do create lots of half links. If this will work it's gonna eliminate the need to bend an S hook and weld it shut and the minor cost of the nut or the cost of the nail to bend S hook.

I have a tap and die set so i am thinking my driver will be cold rolled and the drivers will be tool stock and changeable.

I love the satisfaction of making my own things whether I copied or came up with my own idea.

I agree here. They are all I use and very simple to make. I don’t weld the end shut like the ones pictured above.

Open ends tend to fill up as you drive them in sometimes causing them to jamb onto the end of your driver making it difficult to pull your driver out. But they are easier to make since you don't have to fill in the one end.

I have had a few times when the driver has stuck on the way out. But that was due to the pipe being a used anchor and not being clean. I tried closing off one end but it is a pain cleaning them out to reuse them

Discarded sickle sections work pretty good.

That's why the pipe is cut at angle on both ends, when done driving it in, wack the handle sharply on the side to turn the driver, this usually makes it rise up due to angled driver fitting and angled pipe edge, starting to free it from driver, I make my driver's at least an inch longer than pipe on anchor
Soft muddy ground is harder to do, 1/8" cable is stiff enough to help the anchor to not come back up with the driver

Good grief, wish I had thought of this before I threw a whole stack of them away.
