everyone should be able to answer, mine is 3 sadly. I run a small line so this year i got 2 reds and a big boar coon. I'm waiting for the day I can expand my line and caught double digits regularly.

Lot of difference between canines and rats but my favorite day was 12 rats from 13 traps. That was the first day catch. I run a little of everything and don't even remember what else I caught that day because that stop was to cool.

I could never answer that question because I would never know. I use all lethal sets and I never check traps after being set for only one day.

10 coon out of 14 traps on 1/8 mile of ditch. Not the most I have caught in one day, but it was enough to tickle me on my first trap check that year.
4 coon in one cagetrap & 16 coon for the day, all in cages. 404 coon in one season not counting other critters. All kinds of numbers pop up from seasons in the past.

13 grey fox...dont remember how many traps out.

We've had big beaver days and multiple lynx days but these 3 wolves and 2 more yet to be brought home was our best$ day by far.

Got 9 coyotes in footholds in one day this year.Have caught more coon and rats than that in one day but I do not remember any numbers for sure.

I honestly don't know for sure. I'm sure it's 10+ on a mixed line but not sure the breakdown or exact number. Possums count? I've caught close to 1/2 dozen of those several times.

On k9's my best day was 6 in 18 traps. I've has close to or as many on other occasions but with more traps.

How long to skin em?

A coyote, coon, fisher and bobcat was my best day.

Coyotes: 24, 62 in 3 days first check was a 3 day check. I was checking 55-65 traps each day. Got all of them skinned but not stretched or fleshed.
I was young, lots of coyotes and 16-18 hour days. Sure could'nt do it now

Back in the Alabama days I had a skinner who'd come in and skin for me. He would start about 8 at night and be done in the morning before I left, he would bag and freeze the skins and then load up the carcasses and take them to a rendering co. sleep for a day and then do it all again. However remember that was my best day usually it would be between 10 and 20 per day.

my personal best day for numbers was 4 - all skunks - i think i had 15 traps out at the time.


the first day I got to tag along with a trapper to learn some of the ropes they had a handful of coons, a skunk, 3 possums, 2 reds, an otter a beaver and 4 rats - i thought to myself, shoot, this is gonna be easy....i was wrong

I never get to long line. I had a few double digit rat and Coon days in the early 2000’s. Never over 20 though.

I had 4 coyote from 8 traps at deer camp one night. 3 other traps were froze in and had paw prints on the pan in the snow. All caught within a half mile of each other. Must have been a big pack that walked through. Only caught a total of 8 all season from those sets. I believe that was 2010.

Tim Caven and I had 58 beaver in a one day check.

9 lynx, 6 fox, 7 mink, and 1 wolf was a good day. Lots of good days.

Wow some pretty impressive catches here! Lazarus, that must have been quite the day! Lots of skinning there! 58 beaver is impressive as well maddog! My most memorable day was 8 wolves at one set. Got 5 in one day last year, but that seems pretty insignificant looking at these numbers!

Best day ever with the most numbers of one animal was 331 rats in one day pull-had 3 days in a row with over 300 rats each pull-that was nuts!!

I would love to catch that many beavers in one day-it would be a blast to set the traps for a catch like that-I would never get to sleep with the excitement for checking at first light the next morning!! That's crazy work but boy it would keep you young for a few days anyway!!

Like Boco, I don’t generally check traps in 24 hours as our regs permit a 48 hour check. However my best nutria check was 55 nutes from 59 traps. Best otter check was 14 otters from 33 traps. Beaver was 27 beaver from 36 traps. And bobcats was 5 from 9 traps and snares.

Checking daily on a waterline in Oregon, 17 nutria from 15 traps (had two doubles in 280's), 8 beaver, two otter, two coons, and right at the end of the morning I shot a forked buck. My Toyota pickup was full. Another time I pulled my line (rescued) ahead of a flood and had 19 beaver, and otter, and a nutria out of 42 traps. This was after several weeks of trapping the area too. I still don't know where are those critters came from.

My best was 16 coons and 6 opossums out of 45 sets within a 5 mile radius of the house. No picture of this computer sadly.
