Started with pogos, wasn’t crazy about them. Then switched to Berkshire, but that didn’t last long. But then I discovered Iowa earth anchors and have been using for years.

1/2 rebar cut 4" with angled ends nut welded in the middle like a pipe anchor is what I use on really hard or rocky ground. Driver is simple with a piece of 3/4" pipe angle cut on both sides welded to a 1/2" piece of rebar with a short piece of rebar welded near the top to turn the driver if needed and to help get it back out of the ground. Wider anchors will be better in soft ground but in hard ground this works well for me. Ted

I still use the standard and hd Berkshires. No complaints here but I spend very little time trying to retrieve them. If they come out just a little bending and they're ready to plant.

Wolf fangs for me I just buy 3 drivers at a time to get through a season the first one last until the 2nd thaw/freeze then they start to bend. If there is a driver that a guy can beat on with a mini sledge hammer and not bend it over time I have yet to see it, have seen some that take a little more beating but they all bend in hard froze ground it seems.
To save time and my back I cut the cable and walk away. I always have replacement cables in the shed waiting when I get home to re-cable them, the colder it gets the shorter I make the cables. Don't need to go down 18 inches when the frost no where near that depth.
Always able to reset the traps that are not all polished with the new cable added to save on time and not needed to be waxed and dyed during the season.

Using the duck bill ones because I was given 3 doz of them for free. Have not had a problem with them. Built my own puller to get them out.

I use duckbills and have never had any issues with them not holding or having the driver get stuck in them. I do have troubles with the driver bending though, but all drivers I’ve used have had drivers bend. The nice thing about the duckbill driver is that it’s thin enough I can bend it back pretty straight. Wolf fangs driver isn’t gonna hammer straight out in the bush. And the wolf fang anchors always bend and are not reusable almost every time. The driver also gets stuck in the fangs very often.

I have a weld on tip that holds up but a guy just can't get it back out because of the welded tip being wider then the shaft it acts like a anchor. Will need to look into one of them OG ones I had a stainless one I beat the snot of it too so far.
