Wondering if any of you have this tent, and if so what you think of it.Its a Cabelas guide type tent.Thinking of getting one in a couple months.Has a spot for a wood stove.Think im gonna get the Alpine Camp Chef stove for it.Any of you have reviews on it?Mainly just for camping but also maybe for some late season hunting.

Mine leaks if it rains. If it is humid during summer camping, you feel it much wo rose than in a nylon tent.
Sure wish they had a rain fly for these tents.

Mudtracker buy some seam sealer and put it on all of them. Seam sealer is recommended by Cabela's. I put mine up in the yard before I used it and applied the sealer. Gets another dose every year before use.

Do you do the whole roof? Cause mine doesn't just leak at the seams. What product are you using?

I read that when it gets cold out and guys shut up all the vents is when it gets the condensation inside.Said you still need some open vents but if you use the woodstove then the condensation didnt build up.Just what i read,i dont know.

I haven't had condensation trouble. There are steep flaps over the windows in the sides. You can leave windows open when its raining. There are vents in the roof and over the door that can not be closed to prevent asphyxiation when using a stove. If you use the vestibule air flow through the over the door vent can be impeded. There are windows, big ones, in the roof with mesh to keep out bugs you can open in dry weather. There is a mesh door also you can leave open excluding bugs. Wind direction will determine if it can be open in the rain. Cabela's does recommend a wood stove over propane for heat due to condensation inherent with propane. The door vent is under the overhang. The roof vents are at the peak. You can see one of the roof windows (closed) in the second picture I posted with a side window and the overhang.

The one I have the roof vents and the door vents do not close. At -15 I had too big a fire and had to open the door some. Biggest problem I have when its cold is wood consumption. Its a tent. No insulation. If the fire burns down it gets cold. Plan on laying in a lot of it.

Before I forget I put a spark arrester in the stove pipe. Helps a bunch. Every couple days though you need to pop it off and knock the soot off the baffle. Got real smoky the first time I used it after a few days. Took me a bit to figure out the problem. Those baffles will plug up and the stove wont draft.

I bought one in 2004 and have used it quite a bit. I got the roof protector, floor cover and the vestabule. In bad weather, stacked our wood in the vestibule. As Danny said it’s a great 2 man tent for extended stays. 2 cots a wood stove and a card table fill it up pretty good. We always leave 2 of the side vents half open and have never have an issue with condensation.

danny clifton >>>> Nice stove. Is that a canvas material you have on your tent?
I'm not sure of the brand of wall tents that I have stayed in but I have spent many nights in wall tents. Been through every kind of adverse weather you can think of and they all have done a great job. The canvas material was always treated every other year or so. We used a weed sprayer and applied the water proofing fire application.

I owned that one and the big one. They work great. I rarely get the sweating problem as we tend to run the wood stove so it's minimal if it does happen. The cons are that it does not deal with snowload very well. Have had them collapse and tear more then once. Another problem is the uv beats them up and makes brittle. That's not a problem if only using it for short periods but if you tend to use it for weeks at a time it will take its toll
