I miss it as it was a huge part of my life. And now it is almost time to get my little ones involved. My daughter started going to practice with me last year and my son will start going next year. They are 4 and 2

Son wrestled back in early 90.s his step son went on to state finals two years in a row. Do miss those days. One thing about it wrestler either wins or loose by them self and can't blame another team mate.

2008-2011 - My son wrestled for the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He is now a Captain in the 101st Airborne, earned a Ranger and a Sapper Tab while serving two combat tours in Afghanistan with distinction. The highest highs and lowest lows that wrestling deals out has helped with his success. Endeavor To Endure. ![](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2018/01/full-33489-402728-414.jpg)

Both sons wrestled & now Great grandson is joining the ranks. Had a saying at our High School "Girls play basketball, boys play football, but men wrestle".

My son Noah is sixteen (you've seen him in action on here a few times) was pretty good in his youth club wrestling days. Here he is pinning some kid in an "Oklahoma" wrestling uniform. Noah thought that was pretty funny...He loved beating kids in flashy "elite" clubs and individuals that traveled from afar. Always came off of mat from those matches with a huge grin and loved shaking the other coaches hand or the other dad's hand, in some cases, after sticking their "star." ![](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2018/01/full-34529-402748-img_0278.jpg) Here is another pic from one of his matches... When he was in fourth grade, the only match he lost all season was at district qualifying tournament for state. He wrestled in our Cornhusker state games a few times, and my gosh I can't remember how many tournaments we drove that kid to over the years. Later he suffered a bad concussion in little league football, followed a few months later by another bad concussion in an automobile accident, the one-two punches that pretty much ended all of his participation in contact sports. He was cleared for running and for baseball, which is all he participants in now for high school sports. Well, that and showing the old man up on the trapline. Says he had fun but doesn't really miss it. He really enjoys playing baseball now, and trapping coyotes. Jim ![grin grin](/forum/images/graemlins/default/grin.gif)

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.
