I guess it's in purposal that ohio will have a season for cats next year.. for what I have read is that it will be limited in counties and a quota of 60 cats for the first season. Plus an additional 5 dollar fee to have a cat tag.. Well I think it's awesome we finally may be able to keep cats but I quota of 60 seems a bit low.. the 5 dollars doesn't bother me it's just I think everyone that chooses to pony up the cash should be aloud to try a get a cat..
What's ya'lls thoughts on this

Hopefully it’s a step in the right direction. There have only been a couple of confirmed cat sightings here in my county, but they are pretty thick in others, especiall down south. 60 does seem pretty low though. I’m just happy that we might finally get a season

I got pics of some on my trail cams this year where I hunt in Morgan county, and also found where they were eating on a dead deer the late muzzleloader, so they are definitely a few around. 60 for the whole state is really low but I guess its at least a start for you guys

This is basically a data gathering season. If you want this, it's really important for people to be in-person at the open houses on March 3.

They are thick in my neck of the woods. Have hundreds of pics on my trail cams of them. This fall while bowhunting, I had a female with three of her young from the year walk under my stand. I also think 60 is a low number.

Yeah it is county limited to so 60 for just those counties probably ain't bad but I know of at less 10 that people caught and released around me and there are plenty of sightings and who knows how many actually got caught

40 cats for 11 counties and 20 cats for 12 counties. Get this first year over and see how things look then.

I worked last summer around Bealsville/Woodsfield that area was seemed to have an aboundance of cats. I saw 7 just driving back and forth to work.
In comparison in southern Oregon we have unlimited cat harvest during season. And rarely ever see one.
