What a shame, hopefully there will be no jobs lost.
Glittering prizes and endless compromises shatter the illusion of integrity

Make junk for as long as Remington has and have as terrible a customer service base as they have, what did they think would happen? I'm surprised it took this long.
Eh...wot?

When people feel safe gun sales go down, I posted the other day how bad business has been over the last year not complaining just stating the facts~ Just glad it's not the fear we had before and the unknown was so stressful.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

A guy in Billings, MT. has been suing them for defective safties on their model 700's. His son was killed by one. His mom was unloading it and it went off, going through a horse trailer, killing him. The law suit isn't helping them any. Very sad. No one should ever trust a safety.

I didn't see for sure but I think this is restructuring , and not really a surprise.
I would hope that they break apart and run each line independently.
Marlin could remain it's own
remingtion shotguns could become it's own
H&R could be combined with marlin
bushmaster it's own
Remington rifles it's own
that way any part could be allowed to go under and not effect the others.
they should just give up on pistols they have been trying to break into that market for to long with very little success
ever since they were purchased by freedom group it was more of a wondering when they would get restructured
they may be going the way of Colt if they don't start listening to customers and building what people want and doing it well.
mosberg , savage , and ruger seem to have been listening to their customers much more lately , even S&W seems to have been spending more time listening , the M&P M2 seems to have answered most of the things people were customizing on the M&P line
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

The Remington 700 safety/trigger problem has gone on for a long time. There was a recall of guns made between 2006 and 2014. Also a ton of barrel failures in 870s and 1100s. They settled a class action suit on that one years ago. Their product line has gotten cheaper and even included some imported guns, so all the symptoms were in place.

yep...60 days https://www.dol.gov/general/topic/termination/plantclosings The Company could go belly up and close up in 60 days. I believe that is the Federal Plant closing law that says they have to give workers 60 days notice of a plant closing.
