I have a place in southern Illinois and last year I went up the first week in March to shed hunt and probably 75% of the bucks were still carrying their racks. I was planning on coming the 3rd week in March this year but it seems all the bucks shed earlier this year here. Have you guys noticed if the bucks have shed there yet. Thanks

they are shedding antlers real good now which is a little early here in west central Illinois.

I have seen a few bucks that have shed, and some that haven't. Haven't really paid much attention to them though.

FYI, I don't think you can have sheds in your possession in IL. Unless it came from a legally taken deer. That may have changed but I don't think it has.

Yes u can have sheds....just can't have a dead head without a salvage permit.

Thanks guys, its a 8 hour trip and I was hoping to time it better than last season. I only found one fresh shed last year the first week of March, and I happened to kill that particular buck which was pretty neat.
