I am a member of the NRA. I do believe that the NRA Was a major factor in the election of Donald J Trump to the presidency. And I am going to work in the near future to get my friends and people I know.... that feel strongly about our right to bear arms... to join the NRA if they are not members. It has been stated there are around 5 million members. I would like to see that double.... or more in the coming months. What a strong message that would be. The NRA may not have made everyone happy in the past, but in times like these we need to show a united front against all those who wish to destroy America and the 2nd amendment!!!.

I became a life member right after the sandy hook incident. They had a heck of a deal for a lifetime membership, I got my uncle and cousin to purchase lifetime memberships too. You might want to ask if there are any special deals for lifetime memberships

Awesome job! Keep up the good work. Gun Owners of America is another great organization. There coming for our guns, they have already taken away many of our rights for our National Forest, trapping and hunting. They do so by brain washing our youth and the public, through the liberal media. When I was a kid we took our guns to school so we can hunt after school during deer season. The coach and I sighted in our rifles on the football field. Nobody went into schools shooting our kids. It's the liberals hate for America and of course they want to blame the guns.

I have never wanted to join the NRA for reasons I won't go into here but now I am going to join because I do not think we have much of a choice if we want to stop this completely stupid attack on guns. There is some serious money behind this wave of 2A attacks this time around, I think they believe they smell blood in the water and aren't going to let this die down, I do not even recall these kinds of attacks ever before. They are going after the CEO of S&W boldly claiming he MADE the rifle that SLAUGHTERED those teens. They even laid out all the failures of the Sheriffs, cops, and FBI but said none of that mattered if the gun hadn't even been made. This is unprecedented.

We all need to support them. As always it is always someone or something other than the real issue. They forgot, "WE" are the NRA! Trying to explain the issue to a friend the other day, I used an example: you could set a loaded ST on a table in a crowded room and it would never harm anyone...until some crazy, evil person chose to pick it up and use it to kill

I'm going to call them this week. I let my membership lapse a few years ago. I got really tired of receiving mountains of junk mail from them nearly every week.
I am going to renew my membership provided they can put me on a "do not call" list as well as a "no mail solicitation" list. If they can do that I will renew.

I am sure there are lots and lots of people who join for a year or two or five and then let there membership lapse. And then rejoin. This issue (2nd amendment vs gun control) goes farther than just in the near future. Our founding fore fathers looked ahead, way ahead into the future. They knew that in the hearts of some men there is evil. Look at all the tyrants and dictators who gained power by force. I am sure when those evil people disarmed their fellow countryman they made themselves look like they were concerned for everyone's well being. Brain washed them into thinking a gun free country is the best for everyone. Then took power either by force or legal means. I read where 56 million..... yes, 56 million souls were put to death by evil governments in the 20th century world wide. Many think that can never happen here....... Fools!!! History repeats itself, A wise man knows that while a foolish man denies history.

Life Member and Endowment Member. Sponsor our local Friends of the NRA Banquet each year as well. Most of the money raised stays local to support very worthy firearm related causes. Our local high school has a trap shooting club that students can compete against other schools and can earn varsity letters. Last year 30 plus students took part. Strength in numbers and getting our youth involved proactively is a win/win!

Chris

Still sending in my 5 year membership payment free doesn't pay the bills plus they can keep the "free" gift! LOL Can't see me sending them money and them sending me stuff back that cost money so keep the stuff and use the money wisely.

If they call you and you don't want them to just let them know they will stop calling if you tell them to stop but the mail seems like a waste of postage like you say.

Been a life member since '97. I did a contest on here a few years ago giving away a membership and some other stuff if you could guess the last three serial numbers on my Beretta 92FS. It was a lot of fun and I think people liked it. I'm gonna do that again.

They will do that WAG, I haven't gotten a call or mail for over 10 yrs.

Me too. Will always be a member. I told them to stop mailing me junk and save the money for use elsewhere. No junk mail since then.

If you own a gun and want to keep it you should by no doubt be a NRA member.

Lifetime Endowment member here also. Any of you letting a little junk mail stop you from joining should really re evaluate your decision. When the left wing gun grabbers come knocking to take your guns that junk mail would be insignificant.

I joined while I was in the "Nam", and an Officer was required to endorse me, went life a few years later. NOBODY is or has done as much to promote shooting sports and protect the 2nd Amendment as they have.

Unless you live in the foremost corner of the earth and have not been paying attention to any news you have to know that there are some folks out there that want to take away some ( starters for now) of our rights to own or purchase certain guns. I have seen on TV a couple people that say the government should take away ALL guns. Only the government should have weapons. The NRA (National Rifle Association) is made up of people who have a passion for firearms either for self protection, sporting and hunting, collecting, target shooting... etc. We believe it is our right given to us in the United States Constitution to "keep and bear arms"!!! A single voice has a hard time being heard by those who don't agree, but many can be a strong voice!! That's why the NRA was formed..... to make sure we are heard about what we believe about the 2nd amendment!!!

I dropped membership several years back due to the fact that NRA spent more than my membership cost, trying to get me to give more money. I got very tired of that. I would gladly pay double the fee if they will promise to not call or send me mail. I guess that I need to renew.

I had the same issue when I first joined, I called and asked to be removed from their solicitation list. I only get emails for calls to action now on upcoming gun laws in my state.

I would also recommend joining the Second Amendment Foundation.
