Was given a bunch of gibbs and son two trigger traps yesterday. They have teeth on one jaw and appear to be jump traps. Any body know anything about them and their value if any.

boys, there ain't no way salt can be bad for ya... if your eating it on buttered sweet corn...NO WAY

They were one of the first versions of a stoploss trap. Made in the late 1920s and early 1930s. Continued to be made by Victor when ATCo bought out Gibbs

A fairly common trap for its age. Not many trappers still use them. They are about 9 different models, based on material in the bale, etc.

Unless in super good condition, you will be lucky to get $5.00 for them.

Redknot: Brackish marshes like here along the Chesapeake Bay. Gibbs owned a large section of marsh not far from me.

Larry: You can probably sell them for wall hangers. That's where mine are.

Never argue with a fool - they will drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
