I don't think glands need a fixative. Glands have some fixative qualities already.
sweet skunk is a good fixative. you will most likely have to age your own to get the real deal. takes a couple years minimum to get good.
muskrat musk, beaver castor and beaver oil sac are glands compatible in k9/cat food lure. not a gland but quality urine in a k9 food lure is not out of character either. just like dogs coyotes pee on stuff they are about to eat sometimes. pee on stuff they are about to bury also.
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

rotted down skunk pods take on a very unique odor I rotted a pint of half and half skunk pods and beaver oil sacs even it took on a sweet smell after a year and a half! trail cam results were positive on cats and yotes I can testify it worked well as a stand alone lure on a flat set

Paul is that one of your wine making secrets that you revealed to us. Clever Yes, where do you think that skeeter pee gets it's yellow color from? The left over mustard in the empty sacs is the key - lol.

The sweet skunk I'm using now was started in 2015. It has a very nice odor. I put a gallon of empty skunk pods in a bucket and cover with white wine. It takes about 2 years for mine to be right. I'm sure the alcohol in the wine slows down the breakdown, but it imparts a very nice odor. thank you for that information. Do you think any white wine at the store would work for this?

I use the cheapest white wine I can get. The wine I make is too good to use for this.
