Man, has it been busy around here! How's everyone doing? We already had champagne outside with the chickens and it's almost supper time. We're waiting for a big meatloaf to get done in the oven, but it smells great in here. This one is more than a three pounder with ground beef, veal, ground pork and ham with mushrooms, onions, butter, cream and Gruyère cheese. I made up a couple of small salads and I'm sautéeing some sugar snap peas. We're getting hungry around here. What's for supper tonight? I'll bet it's good. I hope you all are too!

We had brisket from the slow cooker. Not the best brisket but in the top 5.

Here it is with more Gruyère cheese and some scallions on top. Ooooh, that was good! Too funny, Beav. Wonderful, Scuba! Nice, Pcr! All good stuff, Bob! That brisket sounds great too, John! Another meatloaf tonight! Nice, P.A.Trapper! We'll be be right over Pete! I hope they made extra! And a third meatloaf on the menu tonight! With mac and cheese? Fantastic, Reloader! Beautiful stuff there, Nessy! Thanks for that photo! Nessy, when we're home at the end of the afternoon, we have "chicken champagne." We have chairs out by the coop and we take a bucket with a bottle of champagne on ice out there with a couple of outdoor (plastic) champagne flutes and a some treats for the girls. We crack the champagne and toast to all kinds of things we are thankful for. It's a great way to wrap up a day of hard work. It often results in chickens on our laps. They dig it. Here is the general layout in warmer months when the world is green. Here is a past chicken champagne photo from this time of year. We're sitting out there, drinking champagne with the girls hanging around. You can see that one of the girls knows Zim has good stuff in that container. Great way to end the day outside!

Meatloaf here as well. Cream of mushroom meatloaf, mashed potatoes and canned green beans from the garden.
Help yourself.
