Canvasback2 OP trapper Joined: Jul 2016 Posts: 3,928 NY	Got home from the Doc. He ordered 16 different blood tests today!! He said he was going to get to the bottom of this , and find out what was going on!!! He said he really doesn't think it is Hepatitis, because I haven't done a thing to risk catching it !! Then, he did an external feel of my Liver, he didn't think upon external exam, that it was enlarged. Told me to take it easy, and wait till the test results come back in a few days. Better news than I thought I would hear!

elkaholic trapper E Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 4,962 PA	I have NASH, or what they now call NAFLD. Basically it is non-alcohol related cirrhosis. My liver and spleen are both enlarged. What caused it?? Not sure. I do show that at some point in my life I was exposed to Hep C. They figure that I contracted Hep C, my body fought it off over time, but the damage was already done. How was it diagnosed? I got a couple staph/cellulitis infections. They all started the same way. I would get violently ill for a day or 2. Then I would get a red area (usually on my legs). A course of antibiotics and I was good to go. Sometimes the red mark wouldn't be very visible. I had one that looked like a really angry mosquito bite. Other symptoms I have...... Lymphodema in both of my lower legs. Esophageal verices. Splenic verices. They estimate that I have had mine for 20-30 years because of the stage I'm at. So that puts the age of contraction somewhere between 15 and 25. What are they doing about it? Monitoring it. I'm nowhere near the stage of needing a transplant, and my Hep C titers are too low for treating it. Millions of trees die every year to print environmentalist publications
