My father and I are planning a phesant hunting trip for this fall in South Dakota. Neither of us have ever hunted out there and are on a budget so were planning to find a ranch or private land to pay to hunt on for a day or two then try our luck on public land. Any information would help.

Hard to say now a good hatch this spring with good weather might be worth a trip but the current numbers are dismal.
