Just wondering if anyone has tried the blue bucket set for mink? Where does Nittany get his buckets? In many of my creeks the water isn't deep enough to come up to the top of the bucket. Is it ok to use a smaller Bucket?

i've watched and watched the video and i swear i pick up something new every time that i'm doing wrong.it is one of those sets there is no variation.Do it by the book(video) or stay home in my opinion.Too complicated on my simple trapline.

Blue bucket set is great for targeting those big male mink! Local Fastenal store is where I get mine. If want to keep a balanced population put out some pink buckets for the females. Good Luck! Dave ![](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2018/04/full-30166-410534-bb.jpg)
Forever in debt to my Father who introduced me to trapping. May I be half the man he was.

What modifications does everyone use? I know someone is using rebar stabilizers for both the bucket and trap.

Blue Bucket Set? Thought that was just a staple on any good trapper line. I was fortunate enough to learn from the original posting.. no second had info for me.

There Is some talk here In WI about outlawing It. Not because It's so effective as a mink set but under the guise as littering.
The blue bucket set In a nut shell. You place the bucket top up. Then you load It up with dry dog food. The birds work the dog food and knock off some of It into the water. This attracts small fish which In turn attract the mink. Then you can place some mud on top and bed your trap. The mink climb up on the bucket and use It as a launching pad to get those small fish. So the bucket can't be to far out of the water. Or you can just add a branch or a rock next to the bucket to create a walk way to the top.

Never tried the blue bucket set, but the blue bowl set for coyotes is a killer.
