Back around 1980, I told my wife that I had seen enough police, doctor, and lawyer shows to last a lifetime. There was even a show with a lawyer-doctor-policeman named Quincey.

Many nights one fhe major networks, primetime only had shows that were on of the three of these types.

I jus t about never watch TV after Vanna and Jeopardy end at 8pm. I do enjoy PBS and Disco ery, and do umentories.

Vanna still looks pretty good for 70.

I just got rid of TV, and go outside. Feel better that way.

Many have traded one large screen for several small ones.

There's some good stuff on TV if you stay away from the reality shows, stupid sitcoms, etc. I like to watch boxing and some other sports. History Channel sometimes has some good stuff on. NatGeo is interesting. If you like history, Mysteries At The Museum is one of my favorites. Crime channels that are the real thing are interesting as they explain the investigation that led up to the solution of a crime. Investigation Discovery, Forensic Files are a couple that are good. There are some outdoor channels that feature hunting, fishing, and even trapping.

There are getting to be more and more reality shows which are sickening. I have pretty much quit watching those. One of the dumbest ones is Naked And Afraid. Idiots running around in the wild naked! Are you kidding me???? Who in their right mind would do that?

A few years back we went off line completely, No TV or internet. Honestly it was the best 7 years of my life. It brought the family closer together and we never missed a thing. Our daughter still talks about not having TV or Internet at home through High School.

How many crabs and Tuna can a guy watch? How many ads repeated over and over? The average TV show is an insult to your intelligence. The news is so biased that I refuse to watch.

I'm over it. Cancled the 100 or more dollar a month junk last year. The whole family is off of it. Shut it down, you won't miss it.

Frankly, I enjoy the television. It keeps me entertained and informed. Me and Miz get the satellite and we have a dazzling array of programs and programming available. How could an intelligent person possibly get tired of that?

Well, that makes two of us anyway.

I hope we don't find ourselves in poor company.

But I despair.

I didn't realize how much it cost. When we got the satellite it was 40 bucks or something like that. It trippled. 500 channels and nothing on.

I hate to think I'm not intelligent because its gone.

My wife tells me I act like an old man(I'm 35) because about all I'll watch is documentaries about WW11 or something like that and a few hunting shows

I'm constantly threatening my wife that I'm going to shut off the cable. Eighty-seven dollars a month and I barely use it!

I watch WeatherWorld (best weather report out there). It's on weeknights at 6:00. I'm always busy then so I subscribed to PCN ($35.00 per year) and can watch it when I have time.

The only show I watch regularly is NCIS which is on at 8:00 on Tuesdays. 8:00 is when I read a bedtime story to my granddaughter. I buy the new episodes the following night from Amazon Prime for $1.99 and watch them commercial free.

I like the UFC and Bellator free MMA events but I'm sure I could find a way to watch them for cheap or for free. If I do, I'm cutting the cable. I don't care what my wife says!

I get my news from sources other than the cable news networks. My tolerance for bullcrap has decreased to the point where I can't stand the spin CNN, MSNBC, PBS, Fox and the like put on things. You'd have to be ignorant to believe half the crap they spew!

I quit cable 5 years ago. I watch documentaries on Netflix or PBS shows.

Good point, my wife subscribes to Netflix. She watches documentaries and original series on there all the time. Some of the series aren't that bad.

But, then, it doesn't take much to entertain and inform some intelligent persons.
Wife is all about HGTV. I watch some of the Alaska shows. If it were up to me the $105 would be saved for a rain day.

I mostly use the TV to catch the news/weather and to watch movies on the VCR/DVD player.

We got rid of Direct Tv about 6 years and bought a tv antenna. We should have done it sooner. The only thing we miss is Shameless and the History Channel.

Let's see... I enjoy Harry and Larry on Baby first channel... and I try to catch The Chase in between afternoon naps. Other than that, I spend most of my time on the floor, usually by choice, though not always, trying to teach Possum to crawl, even though I'm told I will regret that.

My two eldest Sons had dish disconnected as their kids could lock in on TV and the dang house could burn down around them and they'd never even notice. Seriously.
There's some Lulu or something like rabbit ears that you can buy and pick up a few channels for nothing. It's all over my head nowadays.
Heck, my stupid smart phone just used over 4Gs in 24 hours....how the heck does that happen?

We quit TV when they said we needed a digital box to keep getting local channels.
I was approached by a cable company at the state fair asking if I'd like to subscribe. I told him "with Netflix, Hulu, and Youtube, who needs TV?" the look on his face was priceless.

I enjoy the radio.

Shutting down end of May. I hired a lawn mower and i can get 2 1/2 mows per monthly Dish cost. gonna use Amazon fire stick and sit back a bit this year.
I have seen more than enough air fryer,creppy skin,fat stories thani can handle.

I fired Cable/satellite a few years ago and bought a Roku box. Best move I've made in years. I now pay $8.56 per month for Netflix and have endless viewing on YouTube as well. Far, Far better TV watching now....and without the commercials.

There's some good stuff on YouTube. I wouldn't have guessed.

In hindsight, cable or satellite TV is the biggest scam going.
