I picked up a used, well used radisson canoe yesterday with hopes of fixing it up enough to safely use for trapping. It needs almost all of the ribs replaced. All but 2 are gone. I didn't realize until I got home and started doing some part searches how many ribs it takes and how much they cost. Have any of you replaced ribs on your radisson with something different? Small conduit? Other types of metal strips?

Interesting, I have a couple popped out on mine. Wedge em back in, they always pop back out. Curious to hear any ideas. Might call the company?

I’d find another canoe...unless you have lots of free time on your hands and need a hobby....

Love mine. One man carry, stable, paid $100. Had it for years, push pulled and dragged, never stored inside. Always creekside ready to paddle.

The light weight makes them good for open water beaver trapping off a 4 wheel bike back in the bush.

They are not hard to replace. You do need to cut to length. They are $15 each. I would replace the foam if needed. $100. Repair any hull damage while apart.

My question would be why are they all missing? Are the gunwales messed up or is it that the foam needs replacing?

Even though you need to cut to length you still need to order them by location.

It is said that the liner might need replacing. The foam holds the ribs in place.
