After much soul searching and existential thought I have determined that I have enough traps. I'd like to thank those who have helped on my journey, as I never dreamed I would ever be able to say that. However, through years of scanning classifieds, birthday present requests, begging, and some things I am not proud of I can tenitively but proudly say that I have enough... My support group and therapist are extremely proud of me However I am going into the city today and am having dark thoughts of picking up another few thousand feet of snare wire... Please pray that I keep strong in the face of temptation! And good morning everyone!

I feel for you! Being a trapaholic is a costly addiction. It affects many, including myself! Are you sure a few 1000 ft will do? You better double that!!! Brad

My last purchase a few years back was 7000 feet. And the spool is bare!
And trap setter I figured some would see through my thinly veiled attempt at redemption! I'll be sure to take this subject more seriously in the future!

Hutchy! Stop blathering! Come to your senses young man. Seems now the NEW wife has you wearing an apron. Step away from the sink son and clear the smell of dish soap from your brain.
Everyone knows when the market is down BUY BUY BUY. And the markets are certainly down.
Just relax, in thru the nose out thru the mouth. This too shall pass. We're here for you.

I say that I have enough every time a box shows up on my porch and my wife gets home before me.

7000 ft of snare cable in a few years is pretty impressive to me.
As far as having enough traps, how is that even possible?

Guys should we call someone? I mean it's obvious Hutchy has fallen and hit his head!!
Do we know what we're in for if he comes home empty handed? Certainly a veiled cry for help. Remember he IS Canadian, one must be delicate in such circumstances eh. Osky

As far as having enough traps, how is that even possible? It's not possible. If you can count them all without the aid of a calculator or in less time than it takes to kill a 12 pack, you haven't got enough. Some have tried none have succeeded. Osky

I am in the same boat. We can use colony traps here, so no need for barrels full of 110s and 1.5 coils. I suppose I could use a couple dozen more DP traps though
Just happy to be here.

I remember my first NTA Convention, I couldn't believe all the types of traps, snares, lure, trapping tools, live traps, etc. & I NEEDED THEM ALL! This has been a few years ago. Now I can go to the conventions & not drool all over the place like I once did, I just drool a little bit because I now have ALMOST everything I need. The problem is now I'm too fat & old to climb all the ditchbanks in the world. But even though I have most everything I need, when I leave the convention site my wallet is always lighter & my truckbed a bit heavier. I'm closer, but not quite to the place where I don't need anymore traps. Hope I never reach that point.

Better postpone that trip as you sound delirious. You may be a danger to yourself and others driving in that condition.

I think the specialty trapper has the advantage over the multi-species trapper as the wolfer, ratter, coon guy has certain traps that are needed for the job. On the other hand the multi-species trapper has a wider range of equipment to cover his bases depending on the markets.
I look at the coon conies and rat traps I have had sitting around until the next up tick and think about selling them but know better as up goes the trap prices with the fur prices.
